Maruti has reported a 41.6 percent jump in its August sales.

Maruti Suzuki, the leader in Indian passenger car market, has reported a growth of 41.6% in its sales, when compared to the sales in the month of August during 2008-09 fiscal. Maruti has sold 84,808 vehicles in August 2009.
 
According to a regulatory statement of Maruti Suzuki, the sales figures are inclusive of the 14,847 units that have been exported.
 
The company had sold 59,908 vehicles in August 2008.
 
The A2 segment of Maruti Suzuki consisting of Alto, Wagon R, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz has witnessed a growth of 39.3% to 52,473 units. The sales in the A2 segment during August 2008 had been 37,667 units.
 
The A3 segment, which has models like SX4 and D'zire, saw sales of 7,821 units as against 5,427 in the year-ago period, registering a growth of 44 percent.
 
"During the month, the company crossed the milestone of 50,000 cumulative exports in the fiscal," Maruti said.
 
The revamped model of Estilo had been launched in August 09 by Maruti after the car's ‘Zen’ prefix was dropped. This is priced between Rs.3.12 lakh and Rs.3.95 lakh in New Delhi.
