Maruti Suzuki is to fix the oil leakage problems in the engines of its 6,000 Alto model, the company said on Wednesday.
The company would fix the problem about 6,000 Altos that was manufactured in April. Nearly 800 sales network centres and about 2,740 service workshops will be engaged to resolve the issues.
The company took the initiative, as many cars that were manufactured between April and June period were reported to have had the starting troubles.
The vehicle would show some signs of starting troubles if it is affected. However, the company was not sure of so far how many cars were affected by the oil leakage troubles.
Maruti Alto is the largest selling car amongst the compact car segment with the company selling over 2.35 lakh cars as of March end, according to sources. The company has sold over 64,000 cars in the April to June period.
