Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its much-touted SX4 diesel version on Tuesday. The Maruti SX4 diesel shares similar looks of its SX4 petrol version.

The company has launched the Maruti SX4 VDi diesel version with the introductory price of Rs. 7.74 lakh while the other variant SX4 ZDi is priced at Rs. 8.62 lakh. The car will also be the first car in the country to comply with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD II) technology that will alert owners if there is any fault in emission control system.

The diesel car will have a DDiS engine and is equipped with 1.3 litre capacity. The VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) technology inserted in the car will enable maximum PS power at 4,000 rpm and torque capacity comes at 1,750 rpm. The car would accelerate in just 14 seconds to touch 100 kmph and can reach about 160 kmph.

And there is a system in the car’s dashboard that will alert the owner when the vehicle is found to be polluting more than permitted limits.
