This can give Hillary Clinton something to think about. The chief political strategist of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Mark Penn, has been forced to quit after meeting a Colombian diplomat to discuss a free trade deal. The deal is opposed by Hillary Clinton. The Clinton team on Sunday made the official declaration of his resignation.

But Mrs. Clinton said that Penn would continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign. Mrs. Clinton's communication director, Howard Wolfson and pollster Geoff Garin will form a part of her strategic message team. According to reports, Mr. Penn had met the Colombian ambassador to the US on 31st march in the US, in which they discussed about the free trade deal.

Penn apologized for the meeting, calling it an error of judgment which will not be repeated. But his words well not well received by the Colombian Government, which said that the declaration shows the lack of respect for the Colombians. The US government completed the Colombia free trade agreement in 2006 and is seeking approval of the Congress. The pact would eliminate tariffs on flowers, corn, machinery, meat and other products and would also set rules for investment.
