Top seed Marin Cilic moved into the semi-finals of the Austria Tennis Trophy. The Croatian eased into the semi-finals with a 6-1, 6-4 win over former champion Feliciano Lopez on Friday.

The Beijing finalist Cilic played against Novak Djokovic and hopes to make a place in the season-ending World Tour Finals next month in London. He stands provisional 12th in the chase for the last two remaining spots in the tournament starting on November 22.

The Croatian who started the season with Chennai title has with him second seed Radek Stepanek, 14th in the London sprint, and provisional number 16 Frenchman Gael Monfils in the race.

Cilic will play against Philipp Kohlschreiber on Saturday. The German fourth seed defeated Spanish number five Nicolas Almagro by 7-5, 6-4.

Cilic said, "Playing him will be tough. I will have to lift my game and play better than I did today. It's a strong field here. Even if I'm the top seed, there are plenty of guys like Stepanek, Monfils and (Austrian) Jurgen Melzer who have good chances."

Cilic who crushed the 28-year-old Spanish opponent, the 2005 winner, said,"I have no pressure.”
