Top seed Marin Cilic advanced into the quarter-finals of Austria Tennis Trophy on Thursday.He outclassed German Daniel Brands by 7-6 (9/7), 6-4. Marin Cilic is most likely to make it into the next month's season-ending ATP final with his quarter-final entry in Vienna.
Cilic is among the ten men in the race for the last two places in the World Tour Finals in London commencing on November 22.Cilic who was runner up in Beijing, stands provisional 12th in the race. Cilic earned his 42nd victory in the season against 18 losses and a title in early January in Chennai.
Cilic will face Spain's sixth seed Feliciano Lopez, in his quarter final encounter. The 28-year-old Lopez, who was a Shanghai semi-finalist this month, has now reached six Vienna last-eight spots. He stands 16-4 at the indoor tournament.
