In India today, job-availability all over the country catapults Indians from different regions to places they have never been to before. With this emerging trend, MapmyIndia has been launching GPS navigation devices to help these young professionals and travelers alike to find their way in alien towns and cities with a simple click of a button.
MapmyIndia’s latest offering, the MapmyIndia light or the LX130 proves to be better than its previous entrants.

An interesting feature of this model is that its screen offers clear visibility regardless of the amount of sunlight incident on it. Apart from this, other physical-features are: it is light, weighing in at only 122 grams and is small and pocket friendly and can also be attached to the widescreen of the car all the while listening to voice-instructions while driving.

MapmyIndia maintains a database of 10 lakh points of interest such as restaurants, petrol stations, cinema halls and more in addition to maps of 401 cities and 8.3 lakh km of roads connecting 4 lakh towns and villages. Users of MapmyIndia GPS navigators can tap into this vast resource to meet all their travel-information needs.

In addition to standard directional navigation, MapmyIndia Light helps its users search points of interest like ATMs, tourist places, banks, hotels and more. The device has two main features: demo display and Via points. The demo display computes an intelligent route between two destinations and displays the distance between them while Via points lets you add multiple destinations. Additionally the distance-to-go and time of arrival make it easier to plan one’s travel-route.

The device uses a 99mAH Li-poly rechargeable battery in conjunction with the SiRF Atlas III GPS processor. The LX130 comes with a 2GB microSD card, car-mount, USB cabel, wall and car chargers. It is priced at Rs. 11,990.
