Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is in Thailand for participating in the ASEAN Summit, which kicked off today, mentioned that he will be meeting Chinese premier Wen Jiabo.
 
Manmohan Singh mentioned that Wen would be one of seven East Asia leaders with whom he will be holding bilateral discussions.  Even though he has not mentioned a specific date for the meeting, sources mention that they will be meeting on Saturday.
 
This is the first meeting between the leaders of the two nations after they have been indulging in cold war since last month.
 
Media had reported that China had raised protests against the visit of Manmohan Singh to Arunachal Pradesh, which it claims to be its. Beijing has also come out strongly against the proposed November visit to Arunachal Pradesh by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
 
New Delhi has also criticized Beijing's decision to undertake projects in Pakistani Kashmir, saying this would impact negatively on India-China relation, along with asking China to clarify on the construction of dam across latter’s side of Brahmaputra.
