Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has mentioned that he is hoping to hold talks with separatist Hurriyat Conference for discussing issues related to Jammu and Kashmir in a “constructive” way.

Citing that he will soon be in Kashmir, he mentioned that he had "always maintained that it is our sincere desire to engage all sections of public opinion (in the state).

"I recognize there are some groups who are outside the mainstream. We would also like them to engage in a constructive dialogue with us."

He said the government had held two or three rounds of discussions with the Hurriyat and the group had promised to revert. "I am waiting for them."
