The Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Monday, July 21 gave thumbs up sign and confidently emphasized that his government will win the vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha, which will see the initiation of a 16-hour long deliberation on this issue at 11 a.m. An unusually upbeat Prime Minister met media persons upon arriving at the Parliament House and sported a ‘v’ sign with his fingers prior entering this office there.
When the media queried Dr Manmohan Singh about the prospects of the government in the vote, he responded, ‘we will prove majority on the floor of the House.’ PM Dr Manmohan Singh would move in the Lok Sabha a one-line confidence motion, ‘That this House expresses confidence in the Council of Ministers’. It is on Tuesday, July 22 that the voting on the motion will be held. Ever since the Congress led coalition came to power in 2004, this will be the first time that Manmohan Singh will be moving a confidence motion in the House.
