Mani Ratnam is one of the very few Indian directors who have achieved international recognition. On Monday, the man was awarded with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory award at the 67th Venice Film Festival for his achievements in the Indian film industry.

Post ceremony, the screening of the Tamil version ‘Raavanan’ took place, Vikram, the lead actor in the movie was also present there. But, the actors of the flop Hindi version Ash and Abhishek didn’t attend the event.

Ratnam is more into the Tamil cinema but he has achieved great heights in the Bollywood film-making as well. One of the most special creations of his are ‘Yuva’ and ‘Guru’.

Guru was one of the best performed films,  but Ratnam is at his glorious best when he creates small, intimate and even romantic cinema.
