India's largest telecom company, Bharti Airtel has struck a five-year telecom partnership deal with premium English soccer club Manchester United. The announcement of the deal was made by the chief executive of Manchester United, David Gill and Airtel's deputy chief executive Sanjay Kapoor in the presence of manager Alex Ferguson. Apart from them, players like Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez were also present during the signing of the partnership deal.
 
Speaking on the occasion, David Gill said the English club is extremely happy to sign the deal with India's largest telecommunications company, Bharti Airtel. Describing Airtel as one of Asia's emerging global brands, Gill said that the tie-up will enable millions of fans across India and other Asian countries to enjoy the action and passion of Manchester United. Under the agreement, the customers of Airtel in India, Sri Lanka and the Seychelles will be able to access football content of Manchester United on Airtel mobile phones.
 
The subscribers of Airtel will also get an opportunity to participate in the Manchester United Soccer Schools program. In addition to this, the users will get a chance to watch football matches at Old Trafford and travel to Europe to watch Manchester United play the UEFA Champions League. According to Sanjay Kapoor, it is a great chance for Airtel to enhance its popularity by being a part of a powerful global brand like Manchester United.
