Apart from the handful few like Nandita Das and Nafisa Ali who are regularly in the headlines for their social work, there are definitely others too in the Bollywood fray who care what is happening in the environment and around them. Recently we heard about actor Ajay Devgan, who along with his Juhu neighbors highlighted the problem of their locality getting inundated during monsoons. Now it is film director Mahesh Bhatt who is waging a similar battle.

Sources inform that recently Mahesh Bhatt and the wife of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Poonam Sinha dispatched a letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh urging him to demolish illegal structures. The motive behind writing the letter to the CM was to prevent flooding and water logging in JVPD Scheme and surrounding areas, in K-West Municipal ward, Western Suburbs and Greater Mumbai. Even though Bhatt does not want to direct films anymore, it is good to see that he is striving to direct the society on the right path.
