Narendra Dhoni, the elder brother of Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was inducted in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (April 19). Report confirms that Dhoni's elder brother has also started campaigning for BJP's candidate in the Jharkhand capital. While interacting with the media, Narendra Dhoni stated that his main purpose of joining BJP is to offer his service towards the people of the state.
According to Narendra Dhoni, LK Advani and his party ideology influenced him to join BJP. The elder Dhoni also eulogized former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. BJP has roped in Narendra Dhoni simply to use the name and popularity of the Indian cricket team captain in the general elections.
Apart from it, the inclusion of Narendra Dhoni will help BJP to counter Congress party that has in its kitty celebrities like Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary and yesteryears' star Zeenat Aman. While confirming the news of Dhoni's brother joining the BJP, party's election media cell in-charge Pradeep Sinha informed that Narendra Dhoni may also work for the party in election campaigns in other Lok Sabha constituencies.
