A weekend fire destroyed pop diva Madonna’s childhood home in Oklahoma Avenue in Michigan’s Rochester Hills. According to arson investigators the weekend fire has been deemed suspicious. The blaze on the weekend is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Arson Unit and the Rochester Hills Fire Department. It was a passer-by who had noticed flames coming out of the unoccupied house in the Detroit suburbs of Rochester Hills and had called the fire department.
The house where 49 year old Madonna spent her childhood days was reportedly also auctioned at eBay in 2001. Though there is no confirmed information regarding who owned the house, but according to an archived South Coast Today article, the house was owned by realtor Ted Andres, who bought the home from Madonna’s parents Silvio and Joan Ciccone. According to Rochester Hills Fire Chief Ron Crowell, the fire in the two story brick house appears to have started in the living room. He further revealed that they controlled the fire within 10 minutes but there was significant loss.
