Madonna will meet the biological father of her adopted daughter Mercy during her charity trip to Malawi, according to new U.S. reports.

The pop superstar has close ties with Malawi after adopting two children from the region - four-year-old David Banda in 2006 and three-year-old Mercy James earlier this year (09).

The singer flew back to the African nation this weekend (24-25Oct) to launch her $13.5 million (£9 million) girls school in the capital Lilongwe - funded through her Raising Malawi charity.

According to Usmagazine.com, the 51 year old will also meet 24-year-old James Kambewa, who in April (09) launched a legal bid to regain custody of his daughter Mercy - branding the Material Girl "scandalous" and unfit to bring up the child.

A source says, "Madonna wants to meet Mr. Kambewa because she does not want to deny Mercy her background. Madonna wants to assure Mr. Kambewa that Mercy will not be delinked from her roots."

In addition to David Banda and Mercy James, Madonna also has an eight-year-old son, Rocco, from her marriage to British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, and 12-year-old daughter Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
