Madonna was happy to give her daughter Lourdes a starring role in her Celebration music video because she feels, her teen daughter is already a talented ‘show girl’.
The Material Girl's 13-year-old daughter, from her relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon, hit headlines with her guest slot in the short film earlier this year (09).
Lourdes was originally only slated to make a cameo appearance in the promo, dressed in styles similar to her mother's iconic 1980s looks. But the pop superstar had to give the youngster a more prominent part when her talent for dance became obvious.
Madonna tells British TV show GMTV, "She's been doing rhythmic gymnastics for years and she's very flexible, she's a great dancer... it was one of those fluke things. We didn't intend for her to be in the video. We did intend for her to be in the part where she dresses up for the costumes, that we planned, but the other one where she was just dancing with the dancers... she's very friendly with the dancers and they kind of dragged her into it and you know, it was just a small little piece. It's great, she's a show girl."
