Replacing Ashok Chawla, M Madhavan Nambiar has become new secretary for Ministry of Civil Aviation. Mr Nambiar is a 1974 batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre. He was collector of Dharmpuri district for quite sometime. Now, he would be responsible to make national carrier 'Air India' a profit making entity and also, handle the existing losses suffered by different airlines operating in Indian sky.
 
Currently, M. Madhavan Nambiar is working as special secretary in the Ministry of Information and Technology. The management educated IAS officer has been known for great acumen and has taken crucial roles in different positions during his tenure. According to reports, Mr Nambiar is expected to take his new appointment from September 17.
