A new study points out that the chances of a woman getting pregnant increases by 10% if she lies still for 15 minutes after getting the artificial insemination done.
AI is a medical procedure usually used to treat infertility, by which sperm is placed into the reproductive tract of a female to get pregnant by artificial means.
According to Inge M Custers of Centre for Reproductive Medicine, Amsterdam, who conducted the research, 27% of the women who remained still for 15 minutes after the procedure conceived when compared to the 17% women who move around after getting the AI done. About 391 women were tested for the research.
While 199 women were asked to remain still fro 15 mins, the rest were allowed to move.
The study appears in the online edition of British Medical Journal.
