LTTE chief Vellupillai Prabhakaran, in an appeal to India, said that New Delhi should seek renewal of relationship by lifting the ban on the outfit. He asserted that even the struggle of the LTTE is gaining importance and acceptance in some parts of India.
Addressing at the annual Hero’s Day, the leader said that there were great changes taking place in India and there were also indications of LTTE struggle becoming accepted in India. He also asked all the countries that have proscribed the LTTE, to lift the ban.
Prabhakaran also said that the inherent aspirations of the personnel of LTTE do not in any way hamper the national interests of any country or people. Corroborating his stance, the 54 year old guerrilla leader said that it must be noted that during the long history LTTE struggle, the organization has not conducted any act of aggression against any member state of the international community.
Prabhakaran, also accused the Sri Lankan government of creating a hurdle between the LTTE and India. He said that the cadets of LTTE always consider India as friend.
