As per the defence ministry of Sri Lanka, the dead body of LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran’s elder son Charles Anthony has been found by the Lankan army on Monday (May 18). The army has also found the dead body of LTTE's political head B. Nadesan, including that of two other senior leaders. While confirming the report through a website, the Lankan defence ministry stated that Charles Anthony's dead body was found in Karayamullavaikkal area during the operations in the island’s north.
Informing further, the defence ministry said that Anthony was one of the top members of the rebel outfit who was given the responsibility of managing the Information and Technology department of LTTE. Apart from the dead bodies of Prabhakaran’s son and Nadesan, the Lankan troops have also found out the bodies of Pulidevan and Ramesh during the operations. The ministry informed that B. Nadesan was the political head of LTTE. Before joining the rebel outfit, Nadesan was a police constable of Sri Lanka police.
Pulidevan was the chief of LTTE peace secretariat while Ramesh was the military leader of the outfit. LTTE on Sunday (May 17) called off its decade-long armed struggle and it assumed that LTTE supremo V Prabhakaran might have died in the coastal belt of Mullaitivu district, about 395 km from Colombo. The defeat of LTTE has put an end to the decade-long ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka that has claimed nearly 90,000 lives besides destroying peace and prosperity in the island nation.
