Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, said that its construction division has received contract worth Rs 2,000 crores from Wadia group flagship firm Bombay Dyeing for construction related works of the textiles and the spring mills of the company in Worli and Wadala. The project is expected to be completed in 46 months i.e. by the end of December 2011.
The project involves construction of mixed used developments of about 4 million square feet at the textile mills in Worli and 5 million square feet at the Spring mills in Wadala. Earlier in the morning, the shares of the company saw a rise of 0.40% trading at Rs 2,785.
It is to be noted that Larsen and Toubro is India's largest engineering and construction company and has many offices even outside India. It offers a wide range of services and products and is said to worth USD 7 billion. Besides construction, the company also offers services in Electronic products, IT services, Finance and shipbuilding.
