The Central Industrial Security Forces, CISF, has rolled out a new section of their website, www.cisf.gov.in, called the ‘lost and found’, which will help the travellers to trace the baggage which they missed from an airport.
CISF handles the security of 57 Indian airports.
"After looking for the rightful owner of an unattended or lost luggage, if he or she is not found, then it will be handed over to the airport manager. Thereon, details of the baggage and when it was found will be uploaded on our website in the lost and found section, along with the procedure to claim it," a CISF official said.
Goods worth Rs.2,33,97,305 have been discovered from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi itself between January 2009 and August 2009.
