Liu Chunhong of China set a new world record in the Women’s 69 kilogram Weightlifting category, after lifting 128kg in the Snatch, 158kg in the Clean and Jerk and 286kg weight in total. Thus, she earned a gold medal and a world record to her name. After this laudable triumph, China has got all the six Weightlifting gold of the tournament.

In the Snatch, Natalya Davydova of the Ukraine lifted 115kg and did well in all of her three attempts. Oxana Slivenko of Russia also lifted the same amount but wasted her second attempt. Nevertheless, all their labors were vain in the company of Liu, who lifted 120kg on her very first attempt. Afterwards, she lifted 125kg in her next attempt and broke the world-record. Her last attempt on 128kg was only further to set new world records.

In the Clean and Jerk, Oxana lifted 140kg, followed by Davydova’s 135kg. Liu sealed the gold with her unbeaten first attempt on 145kg, but she didn’t stop there. She promptly lifted 149kg with her second attempt, smashing the world record for total weight. Her next successful attempt on 158kg startled the audiences. She hasn’t only broken the world record for total weight over again, but also created a new record in the Clean and Jerk.
