Young actress Lindsay Lohan tried hard to convince the Beverly Hills judge but court was not ready to listen to her tearful pleas. The actress has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for continuously violating the rules of her probation.
Angeles County Superior Court Judge, Marsha N. Revel ignored the request of the actress to give her one more chance and recounted the list of example where Lohan lied to the court.
In an interesting drama in the courtroom on Tuesday, the actress defended her failures and promised to follow the rules honestly if given another chance.
Marsha N. Revel quoted, "There were a number of instances of [Lohan] not taking things seriously. It's like someone who cheats but doesn't think it's cheating if they don't get caught."
Revel announced three 30-day sentences and ordered her to spend 90 days in drug rehabilitation facility.
Lohan, 23 is facing trials of two drunk-driving arrests in 2007. She repeatedly violated the terms of her probation. Even at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival she was spotted partying but failed to appear for an important court appearance in Beverly Hills.
Lohan cited the reason that she could not attend because someone had stolen her passport which made the judge furious.
"She lied then and lied prior to that," Revel said.
But, Lohan in her defence said, "As far as I knew I was in compliance with my programs.”
"I wasn't trying to get special treatment. I have to provide for myself. I have to work. Having said that, I did everything to balance my jobs and showing up. I'm not taking this as a joke. It's my life. It's my career. … I take responsibility for my actions. I've tried to do the best I can. It's been such a long haul. … I don't want you to think that I don't respect you,” she added.
