Lindsay Lohan has been summoned to appear before a California judge on Friday (16Oct09) amid allegations she's violated the terms of her probation.

The actress is currently serving three years' probation as a result of a 2007 arrest for driving under the influence (DUI).

She pleaded no contest to charges of cocaine possession and DUI and served just 84 minutes in prison. She was also ordered to complete 10 days of community service and enrol in an alcohol education programme.

Reports on Thursday (15Oct09) claimed the Mean Girls star had failed to abide by the rules of her probation and now Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel has ordered Lohan to show up in a Beverly Hills court to answer the allegations, reports the New York Post.

It is unclear which probation condition the star is thought to have violated, but rumours suggest it is related to the alcohol education course.

If Lohan is found to be at fault, she could have her probation revoked and be hauled back to jail.
