British singer Patrick Wolf has supported the campaign launched by Lily Allen against internet piracy. The singer insisted that he finds it difficult to pay his house rent with his little earnings from tours.
Patrick Wolf is known as an independent artist and depends on touring revenues to make a living. ‘Wind in the Wires’ singer has urged music lovers to stop downloading tracks from the internet.
Few days back Lily Allen requested her fans not to use internet for downloading the tracks as it is harming the British music industry.
Lily Allen said, "File sharing's not okay for British music. We need to find new ways to help consumers access and buy music legally, but saying file sharing's fine is not helping anyone - and definitely not helping British music."
Meanwhile, Wolf has admitted that he doesnot live a ‘limousine lifestyle.
"I don't have a Liberace helicopters and limousine lifestyle. I'm currently deciding whether I spend the last of my earnings this year from touring on recording the string and choir section of my new album or on the rent until December,” Wolf said.
He added, "Let's start a new future, think about where all the lovely music comes from. Do what you can to protect the music you love. Invest in physical purchases; think about the machinery that goes on behind making your favourite band so fabulous and inspiring, and how they should be able to make a living as well as you too."
