LG Electronics has also joined the race of smart phones, which uses Google’s Android Operating System, with the launching of LG-GW620 on Monday.
 
Motorola had launched its first-ever Smartphone, which runs of Android, Cliq, on Sep 10. Samsung Electronics had also launched its Android-based Smartphone very recently only.
 
The new Android-based LG Smartphone will be providing its users to access Internet services like social networking websites, e-mails, online mapping along with the Google services accessible via Android.
 
The LG-GW620 comes with a 3-inch touch screen as well as QWERTY Keypad which can slide out according to the users’ wish. The other details of this phone will be disclosed shortly.
 
“The LG-GW620 will appeal to first-time Smartphone customers by offering a new and different kind of user experience,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our objective is to provide a wide selection of Smartphones to satisfy the diverse preferences of today’s consumers. This Android phone is just one of many Smartphone models we plan to introduce worldwide in the years ahead.”
 
LG "will be introducing a minimum of 13 new smartphones over the next 16 months that utilize Microsoft's Windows Mobile," the company said in the release.
