Leading electronic products manufacturing company, LG is considering to launch as many as 31 new models of star-rated colour televisions in India by the end of this year. While informing about the plan, business group marketing head of LG India, Amitabh Tiwari stated that the company is expected to achieve 7 percent growth in the star-rated colour television (CTV) category by the year-end. Of the proposed models, 19 will be flat while 12 will be ultra slim televisions.
 
The new range of star-rated colour televisions will carry a price tag ranging between Rs 7,300 and Rs 17,800. As per company, the fresh models of televisions will comply with the guidelines issued by BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency). Speaking more about the ambition of the company, Amitabh Tiwari said that LG is hoping to sell 4 million sets in the Indian market and expects to increase its market share from the current 27 percent to 30 percent by end of this year. 

LG's ultra slim range will feature an inbuilt swivel base and high gloss finish just like an LCD. In addition to these, the new range guarantees to be 40 percent slimmer than the existing range available in the market. According to the MD of LG Electronics, Moon B. Shin, the company has decided to develop new models of televisions after finding that energy efficiency is the most important aspect in consumer electronics.
