Leonardo DiCaprio, who gained fame for his role as ‘Jack Dawson’ in Titanic, and has starred in many other successful films including Romeo + Juliet, Catch Me If You Can, and Blood Diamond, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor has claimed that filmmaker, Martin Scorcese is a great teacher.
The actor has recently completed shooting for Martin Scorcese’s forthcoming flick 'Shutter Island'. The movie star maintained that he and his co-stars were requested to watch a vast number of films before working on a new project.
"We watch a lot of films for lighting and mood tone, a lot of obscure movies. He's the best teacher. I'm sure that there are professors out there but I would challenge anyone to know as much about movies as him”, Leonardo DiCaprio said.
The actor added, "He knows not only the film but the editor and second assistant director of an obscure French film. It's weird because that's what he does, that's all he does, that's who he is. He's a man of film”.
