Lenovo has started shipping its first 3D laptop, the Ideapad Y560d. However, the product will only be available in the US now with prices starting at round $1499.
 
According to sources, the device is equipped with the TriDef 3D technology and boasts of features like polarised glasses, a special screen coating and a software solution to produce the 3D effects from 2D content.
 
The Y560d notebook comes with a 15.6-inch LCD display and carries specs like a Core i7-720QM CPU, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 with 1GB GDDR5 memory, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, a DVD writer and Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
 
Lenovo said the device won't be able to play 3D Blu-ray content, but it will proffer a "life-like 3D experience" to the user.
 
Apart from that, there is another application called TriDef Photo Transformer that will transform to 3D for digital photographs.
 
A company statement said, the latest version of the laptop will be launched in a few months and will feature the superfast processor of along with a new technology called RapidDrive to provide a good storage solution.
