The ace tennis player Leander Paes seems to be on fire as he has moved up to sixth position in the ATP doubles World Rankings. The credit of such improvement goes to his match wining performance in the Thailand Open. Paes along with Lukas Dlouhy won the Thailand Open but could not maintain the wining streak in Japan Open. The pair lost the final of Japan Open, thereby denying themselves back-to-back ATP titles. The Indian tennis star is at the sixth slot with 3060 points while his former doubles partner, Mahesh Bhupati remains at the 12th position with 2680 points.
Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy clinched the Thailand Open two weeks ago by defeating Americans Scott Lipsky and David Martin by 6-4, 7-6(4). But the pair could not face the challenge of Russ-German pair of Mikhail Youzhny and Mischa Zverev in Japan Open and lost the final by 6-3 6-4. Before the start of Thailand Open, Paes was at eighth position. Meanwhile, Sania Mirza has moved down to 98th position in the women's single ranking. The out of action tennis player will soon be out of the top-100 club.
