The Czech-Indian duo Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy won the Thailand Open on September 28, 2008 at Bangkok. The doubles pair lifted the title by defeating Americans Scott Lipsky and David Martin by 6-4, 7-6(4). This is the first ATP title of Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy playing together.
Both Paes and Dlouhy have played commendable tennis to win the match in one hour and 16 minutes. Besides winning 74 per cent of points on serve, the duo converted two of four break points to turn the game in their favor. Paes and Dlouhy have won 40 and five ATP doubles titles respectively. This is the first ATP tile playing together. The 35-year-old Indian tennis star has also won the doubles title in Bangkok in 2005 by pairing with Paul Hanley.
After winning the doubles title in Bangkok, Peas seemed very elated and said that wining is a special thing for him which he wants his partner to do frequently. On the other hand, Lukas Dlouhy took the victory as a great thing as he feels that the pair can win more tournaments if they continue to play like this. The current ATP ranking of Paes and Dlouhy is six.
