Late Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze has been honoured by a US-based riding institution by starting a scholarship in his name.
Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi were keen equestrians prior to the death of the actor in September this year, and officials at the Arabian Horse Foundation (AHA) have established a programme to remember the actor, reports buzzhollywood.com.
The scholarship will be awarded each spring to a youngster involved with Arabian horses who seeks a performing arts career.
Foundation president Larry Kinneer said it honours Swayze for his career and the couple's "love of the Arabian breed and contributions over the years to AHA youth programs."
