The Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Ltd (APPDCL) has placed before the engineering major, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) an order worth Rs1,557-crore for construction work. This information was formally announced by the L&T itself on Monday, June 30. The L&T in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange mentioned that it has got a letter of intent for a Rs1,557 Crore for a steam turbine generator package of 2X800 MW to be set up at the Krishnapatnam power station in Andhra Pradesh.
The company underscored that it is the very first order for a supercritical 800MW steam turbine generator in the country. It is the joint venture firm created by L&T in collaboration with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), L&T-MHI Turbine Generators which will provide the generators for this particular project.
