With Indians getting used to luxurious lifestyles now a days, the SUV market is witnessing a growth. The Indian SUV market has witnessed numerous new players this year with the new Scorpio, Toyota Fortuner, Land Rovers and the new Ford Endeavour and it is waiting the launch of more with Hyundai Santa Fe, PAL’s SUV, Skoda Yeti and the revamped Safari.
Along with this, today, India will see one more SUV and it is the Freelander from Land Rover.
The luxurious 4WD SUV, which has been manufactured in London, will attract 100% duty. The Freelander is totally different from other SUV’s in the way it has been modelled. Freelander has been built in a monocoque frame similar to that of a hatchback or a sedan.
The Freelander shares its platform with the Ford Mondeo, which is belived to be yet another model for India.
Even though the exact pricing details are not available, if speculations are true, then this comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 35 lakhs in Mumbai.
