Lamha’ directed by Rahul Dholakia and based on violence in Kashmir had already fallen foul to censor board and now facing protests from the state.

Kashmir is called the crown of India and is termed as ‘Paradise on Earth’, but the movie ‘Lamha’ tries to capture the violent moments known to everyone in the world.

Rahul Dholakia also faced objection by CBFC regarding the usage of certain sentences in the movie. One of them being, “Duniya Main Sabse Khatarnak Jagah” meaning ‘the most dangerous place in the world’.

The movie has covered the root of terrorism and corruption, so it is facing the protests from the people of the state.

The movie is set against the backdrop of Srinagar and while shooting some scenes, it faced oppositions due to the violent dialogues and scenes.

CBFC even asked Rahul to cut-off those dialogues or edit them, but Rahul sticks to the idea of not changing it.

Rahul further adds, “There is a tremendous trust deficit and we need to bridge that by talking and keeping our past prejudices aside.”

The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu and Kunal. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of an intelligence military expert and goes to Kashmir for finding the root of the violence.

Sanjay Dutt adds, “I am not a politician. All I know is that the people of Kashmir want peace. It is a very beautiful place. Twenty nine years ago, I debuted in Rocky whose shooting took place there.”

The on-going protests have not much moved Rahul and he is set to release the movie on July 16.
