Lt. General A.S. Lamba was appointed the chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) headquartered in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh according to an official statement.
 
“Lt. General A.S.Lamba is the 15th general officer-in-command of the ARTRAC. He assumed the charge this (Thursday) morning,” the statement said.
 
The previous incumbent of the post, Lt. General B.S. Jaswal is now the general officer-in-command of the Northern Command that is based in Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
 
Lieutenant General Lamba’s career in the Indian Army began in June 1971 when he was commissioned to serve in the Regiment of Artillery.
 

After assuming charge, he declared, “My priority would be to prepare the troops for any eventualities and to improve their battleworthiness.”
