Indian-born Lakshmi Mittal has been named as the richest business tycoon of South Africa by the weekly Sunday Times for the five consecutive time. Mittal has retained his status despite the fact that his fortune has dipped by 50% due to economic recession.
Mittal made his way into the list of top 150 business men due to shareholding in Arcelor Mittal SA, formerly known as Iscor which was acquired by Mittal.
The Rich List is based on an analysis of holdings of all companies listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange.
