The highlight though includes the bagging of lifetime achievement award by Hindi film veteran Dilip Kumar to whom the audience gave an standing ovation. Even the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai bagging the most entertaining film award was met with a heartening applause.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award was presented to director Tapan Sinha for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema and was received by son Anindya Sinha. There also were two 'One Time Lifetime Achievement Award' that were given to Lata Mangeshkar and Saroja Devi at the event. It was a feat for Lage Raho Munnabhai to have bagged the national film award for most entertaining film as its prequel Munnabhai MBBS too had bagged the honor in 2003.
