Kites is a forthcoming Bollywood film directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Rakesh Roshan that will star Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut, Kabir Bedi[1] and Luce Rains. The film is scheduled for release on May 21, 2010[2].The film is reportedly a high budget movie and has world rights valued at $30 million.

In the harsh terrain of the Mexican desert, a mortally wounded man is left to die in the heat of the desert sun. This is Jay. Once a street smart, carefree young guy. Now, a wanted man. As death looms, the only thing that keeps him alive is the quest to find the love of his life, Natasha. A woman betrothed to another man. Jay and Natasha will fall in love despite language and cultural barriers, and embark on an action-packed adventure of love, dance and danger across Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Mexico- an adventure that could kill them both, or bring them together forever.

Hrithik Roshan as Jai. Orphaned in childhood, he's learned to live by his wits and his charming good looks. He loves the good life and is not afraid to make a shady deal to make a few dollars. He is a Salsa teacher who makes just one wrong move: he falls in love.

Barbara Mori as Natasha, a beautiful but illegal immigrant from Mexico who is in constant fear of discovery and deportation. She is desperate to make her fortune in the U.S.A. any way possible, including getting married to a rich man. When she meets Jai, she throws all these cautions to the wind.

Kangana Ranaut as Gina, a spoiled, rich girl used to always getting what she wants and what she wants now is Jai, her salsa teacher - as her husband.

Kabir Bedi as Bob, a powerful and wealthy casino owner.

Kites will officially be released in its international English version as Kites: The Remix. It has been edited by Brett Ratner. The international version will be 90 minutes long, as opposed to the Hindi version, which is 130 minutes long. This version will delete all songs, except for 'Fire' which has an altenative English version that will be heard during the end titles. With alternative footage and added action scenes, this movie aims at a younger, action orientated audience. The movie is said to be 'racier, edgier and spunkier' than the Hindi edit.

While the Hindi version of Kites is scheduled for release on May 21, 2010, the international version will be released one week later on May 28, 2010.[2] The movie will be released in over 60 countries. It was rumoured that this version would be dubbed in English, but it was later revealed that the two versions were simultaneously shot. Hollywood's composer Graeme Revell has provided additional background score for the movie.
