The very talented actress and wife of veteran actor, Anupam Kher expresses her views on serious cinema and says that she envies all the men involved in the practice.

Kirron Kher thinks that men have the major role in creating serious cinema as film makers or either actors. She is jealous of all the male actors including her husband Anupam Kher.

She adds, “I'm jealous of all the men why only Anupam-ji. Cinema these days is driven to men and if they (filmmakers) offer a two scene or three scene role, then I'm not going to do that.”

The 55 year old further adds, "Serious cinema is only being made with men. Look at Vishal Bharadwaj - all his films are male oriented. The problem is they are only being made with centering men in focus."

The versatile actress has even won national and international awards for her acting skills. She won the national award for ‘Sardari Begum’ (1996), and ‘Bariwali’ (1999). She is not only limited to the national sphere, she also won herself three international awards for her breathtaking performance in the movie ‘Khamosh Pani’.

The awards were given at Locarno International Film Festival, Karachi International Film Festival and International Festival at Ciepie in Argentina.

Kirron also believes that she wants to work with the new age filmmakers. Right now she has two projects in hand; one is Aishwarya and Akshay starrer ‘Action Replayy’ and the other is ‘Dostana 2’.

She further adds, “I want to work with filmmakers like Vishal Bharadwaj, Homi Adajania who made ‘Being Cyrus’, Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap, and Neeraj Pandey who made ‘Wednesday’. I like them as they are phenomenal and are bringing out the reality so beautifully.”

Her presence on the small screen is also going to be prominent, as she will be judging the second season of ‘India’s Go Talent’ on Colors. Sonali Bendre and anchor-turned-director Sajid Khan will also be a part of it.
