Kings XI Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals in the last league match of the IPL. Batting first, the Punjab side scored 221 for the loss of 3 wickets. Shaun Marsh was the top scorer (115 runs) for Punjab. Hopes also made a strokeful 51 while Yuvraj Singh blasted 49 off just 15 deliveries, of which six were dispatched for massive sixes. Yusuf Pathan took one wicket, giving 24 runs.

Chasing a mammoth target, Rajasthan Royal could manage to score only 180 for seven wickets in 20 overs. Jaipur side lost a couple of wickets in the initial overes and lost the momentum chasing a big total. Niraj Patel (57) and Yousuf Pathan (39) made valiant efforts but that could not take Rajasthan Royals to victory. Young leg spinner Piyush Chawla was the most successful bowler for the Punjab and took 3 wickets for 35 runs.
