Kings XI Punjab defeated Delhi Daredevils by 4 wickets at the PCA stadium in Mohali to register their second win in the IPL. Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first but kept loosing wickets at regular intervals which hampered their progress. VRV Singh was the most successful bowler for Punjab who claimed 3 wickets for just 29 runs. Irfan Pathan bagged 2 wickets whereas Brett Lee and Yuvraj Singh chipped in with 1 wicket each. Manoj Tiwary was the top scorer for the Daredevils scoring 39 runs in 34 balls which included 6 fours. Delhi managed to score 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
 
In reply, Punjab lost 2 wickets in 2 overs, losing opener Karan Goel for just 1 run and Kumar Sangakkara for 4 runs. But Simon Katich held one end, scoring valuable 75 runs in 52 balls. He was well supported by Yuvraj Singh who gathered an unbeaten 40 runs in 29 balls, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Punjab achieved the victory target with 3 balls to spare. Mohd Asif was the pick of bowlers for Delhi picking up 2 wickets while McGrath, Yo Mahesh and Shoaib Malik shared 1 wicket each.
