Kings XI Punjab continued their winning streak by beating the Bangalore Royal Challengers on Monday night at Bangalore. This was the 5th straight win for the Punjab side, who look to be getting stronger with every match.
The Kings XI Punjab bowlers exploited the seaming pitch extremely well after winning the toss. The pitch proved graveyard for the Bangalore batsmen and they folded for a paltry 126 runs. From the very outset, Punjab bowlers, Sreesanth in particular, made life difficult for the Bangalore batsmen.
Rahul Dravid stood like a rock amidst falling wickets. His knock of 66 was the only positive for the Bangalore side which had five ducks in their innings. For Kings XI Punjab, Piyush Chawla and S Sreesanth were the 2 most successful bowlers claiming 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
The target of 127 runs proved a cakewalk for the visitors and they achieved it with the loss of four wickets in 18.2 overs. Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for the Punjab team scoring 39 runs off 34 balls. Ramnaresh Sarwan was the second top scorer for Kings XI Punjab , adding 31 runs.
