Kingfisher Airlines is soon going to start flights from Dubai to Srinagar. This service is expected to give a major boost to tourism in terrorism-infested Kashmir.
Kingfisher Chairman Vijay Mallya told that the airline has applied for a licence with the Civil Aviation Ministry for a flight from Srinagar to Dubai, with a halt in New Delhi. Kingfisher currently operates 712 daily seats to Srinagar from Indian destinations on the domestic route.
When asked about how soon the flight service would start, Mr. Mallya told that it all depends on the Civil Aviation Ministry's approval. Though, he clarified that he expects the Civil Aviation Ministry to clear the proposal without any hassles.
While talking about his childhood days in Kashmir, Mr. Mallya said that he always wanted to put Srinagar on the global tourism map and hoped that with this new flight service more and more people could see the most beautiful Indian destination.
