For the occasion of the Baisakhi festival, the Kingfisher Airlines of India has introduced two new daily flights from Chandigarh to New Delhi and Mumbai. The very first flight flying from New Delhi was received by Punjab governor SF Rodrigues, who simultaneously happens to be the Administrator of Chandigarh Union Territory. A colorful traditional Bhangra dance was organized to greet the passengers when they alighted from the plane.
The Kingfisher flights are being operated using Airbus A320 aircraft, which comprises personalized in-flight entertainment facilities on each seat and offers world class service. With the launch of a daily flight service from Chandigarh to New Delhi and Mumbai, Kingfisher has become the third operator to do so after Jet Airways and Air India. The airline has declared special invitation fares to Delhi and Mumbai pegged at Rs 1,000 and Rs 3,125 respectively.
