One of the leading private carriers of India, Kingfisher Airlines has received the government's approval to operate flights on nine international routes. Under the approved proposal, the airline will operate Mumbai-London, Kolkata-Dhaka, Kolkata-Chittagong, Mumbai-Hong Kong, Mumbai-Singapore, Chennai-Colombo, Bangalore-Colombo, Bangalore-Bangkok and Mumbai-Bangkok flights. According to a Kingfisher spokesperson, the carrier will soon announce the launch of all the flight services.
 
When asked whether the new fight services will be on daily basis operations, the spokesperson answered by saying that details are being evaluated. The news of government's approval sent up the shares of Kingfisher by 9 percent. Currently, the private airline operates daily flights between Bangalore and London which is the only international route of Kingfisher.  
 
The Bangalore-based Kingfisher Airlines operates 218 flights a day and has a network of 37 destinations across the country. The private airline has been named as the most admired airline brand in the Asia-Pacific region. The company is raked as the second largest private airlines in India after Jet Airways. The government's nod has fulfilled the carriers' dream of expanding its flight services on international route.
