Belgian Kim Clijsters won the US Open women's title on Sunday. She defeated Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets by 7-5, 6-3.
 
Clijsters was playing her third tournament after taking more than two years hiatus. She clinched the title in a match played for 93-minute.
 
This is the second grand slam triumph for the 26-year-old Belgian .She had earned her first grand slam in 2005.
 
 The ninth seeded Wozniacki was playing her first finals at US Open. It took a little time for Clijsters to find the range with her groundstrokes against the Dane.
 
Clijsters was cracking winners off both wings by the end of the match and registered 36 winners. Caroline Wozniacki managed to get in all just 10 winners.
