After making blockbuster movies likes Dhoom, it is natural for expectations to be sky high as director Sanjay Gadhvi's new film Kidnap readies to get screened. As must be evident from the name itself, the movie starring Imran Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Minissha Lamba is a crime thriller.
  

Kidnap is about a young man Kabir (played by Imran Khan) who is out to settle old scores with Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt) and in the process kidnaps his daughter Sonia (Minissha Lamba). This forces Vikrant Raina to commit a series of crimes in order to save his daughter. Many state that the story of Kidnap is quite similar to the Hollywood flick Ransom, but Sanjay Gadhvi refutes this claim.  

'Kidnap’ is halfway between what I believe in and what is expected of me. But it is not a remake of the Mel Gibson-starrer Ransom, ' said Gadhvi. Adding he says, 'Kidnap will establish me as a filmmaker of more gravity.' Fans are waiting with bated breath to see the cool-dude Imran Khan, who debuted recently with ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na’.

Since Khan's initial film role was this friendly, cute college boy, Kidnap undoubtedly must be a challenge to him. In Kidnap, Imran Khan plays a cold blooded kidnapper. Minissha too has gone for a glamorous makeover for the film. Though abducted, Sonia eventually falls in love with her kidnapper Kabir. Though Imran Khan has a meaty part in the film, the director underscores that Kidnap is Sanjay Dutt’s film.
